2 Day Gambia Adventure

Get to see the best parts of rural Gambia and the majestic Gambia river. In the morning we proceed to Banjul were we will cross the impressive mouth of the river by ferry to Barra. From here we will go straight to the former capital of the Gambia, Georgetown or locally also now as Janjanbureh. We will make a few stops in what the Gambians call 'up country' including for lunch. In the afternoon we reach the Janjanbureh Camp which has a idylic spot on the banks of the river. The camp is basic but comfortable with huts with it's own bathroom. In the evening solar and hurricane lights, combined with the moon and the stars illuminate the camp where you will enjoy your dinner followed by local tribal folklore . And remember this camp is not only home to you but also to many monkeys and birds.

During this 2 day trip you will visit the city of Georgetown and one of the national heritage sights, the Wassu Stone Circles. This was once a buriel site for the local people and over a thousand years old. After all the exploring on land it is time to go on the river. The nature and wildlife in and around the river make this one of the most beautiful parts of The Gambia. There is a good change you will see Hippos, Baboons and other monkeys and off course a lot of colourful birds. In the village of Kuntaur you will disembark and your transport awaits you to take you back. Lunch is provided and your guide will tell you more about his culture and country.

When back at your hotel you can reflect on 2 magnificant days in the Gambia full of adventure!
