An ideal way to get yourself familiar with the urban area of The Gambia. This half day trip will bring you several highlights like meeting Charlie the Crocodile, the busy streets of Serrekunda and the National Museum in Banjul.

Bakau was once a small fishing village but has always been known for the sacred crocodile pool which is home to about 100 crocodiles. You will hear all about the history, walk around the crocs and for those brave enough you can even touch them and take a photo opportunity. Gambian artists are among known for their Batik crafts. In Serrekunda you will visit one of the ateliers before passing the 'big' tree which is as the name says big. And with big the Gambians mean huge.

In Banjul the first point of call is the National Museum where you will learn a lot about the history and different cultures in the Gambia followed by a visit to one of the largest markets in West Africa, the Albert Market. You name it and you can find it on this market. Shop till you drop is a possibility here. The capital is busy and in the streets business men are selling their goods, having a chat or drinking attaya.

Your last stop is in a local restaurant for lunch to reflect back on the morning before returning back to your hotel and possibly a relaxing dip in the pool.
